CASE STUDY BRIEF:
Create a set of eight interactive telephone box display units and custom display plinths for various show exhibits.
“A 360-degree seamless op-art pattern across a phone box. Technically speaking this was probably one of the most intense paint jobs we’ve ever done”.
Working to a brief from LarMac Live and architectural designs from Stufish, we produced a series of classic British telephone boxes to exact specifications.
The most complex challenge involved painting a seamless black and white op-art pattern onto one of the phone boxes. This involved scaling the artwork to fit the surface and applying it as as a mask, with custom joins across all the raised features ready for spray painting.
All of the phone boxes were designed to flat pack into custom flight cases for an international tour and Spacial were also responsible for their on-site installation at the V&A.
