CASE STUDY BRIEF:
Design and build a stage structure to accommodate a choir inside a giant jukebox and install it overnight outside Kings Cross Station.
"The install began outside Kings Cross at 22.30pm and was completed at 5.30am when the station opened."
OUR SOLUTION:
Working from client visuals we designed and fabricated a custom steel structure to clad a Cuplock performance stage.
At over five metres high, this was not any ordinary jukebox. Speed and safety were paramount as the installation had to be completed in a single night while the station was closed.
Once live, the general public were invited to interact with the jukebox and select a song. A gold token was inserted, activating the lighting and opening the stage to reveal the choir.
Various aspects of the project required specialist fabrication, such as the compound-curved opal surround, Perspex buttons and interactive light bars. We also produced detailed components using 3D print.
