CASE STUDY BRIEF:
Design and build an Indian Temple DJ booth for Bestival Toronto from standard ISO containers, which will also store and transport the set.
"All cladding elements were created from scratch and hand painted in-house, including the polycarved 3D animal sculptures"
We were responsible for the creative and technical design, in-house fabrication, 3D polycarved animal sculptures and scenic painting of the structure.
We designed and developed a system that allowed components to locate inside the shipping containers for transportation, and then be removed and fitted externally to clad them. This process was completed on the ground prior to lifting into position.
This system also allowed the shipping containers to retain their CSC plating for international shipping, thus avoiding non-standard transportation costs. All fixings on the structure were also standardised to minimise the amount of tools required on site.
